In conjunction with Barking and Dagenham we identified the need to examine opportunities to support the Barking Framework Plan through a land swap strategy and feasibility study for new mixed use development in Barking.
We designed a new development that focussed on the need to provide a new foyer at the centre of Barking along with housing, a church, café, covered market, parking and commercial uses. The development enabled a new pattern of public space and permeability to link the key spaces set around the edges of the site. A new degree of density and visibility was central to revitalising of this part of Barking.
