Adjustments to an expanding primary school. The project involves minor alterations to an existing school building in Islington which will have to accommodate twice the current number of pupils for the next two academic years as another local school merges with it.

A catalogue of physical adjustments has been scoped and designed to ensure that the required functionality of the school is provided. Beyond this, a key design motivation has been to assert that two years is a long time for a child, and that delight should be accommodated for. The catalogue includes new entrance doors patterned like gingham, new signs, canopies, a cupboard screen, an exhibition enclosure, mirrors, a ball court with shelter, and a new nursery playground sloped to meet new doorways to the nursery classrooms.
