Barking Development Framework

Newspaper
The key strategies and proposals in the 102 page Framework document needed to be communicated to the local community in a clear way that would attract interest and feedback. We considered ways of making the information easier digestible without undermining the complexity of the proposals, and agreed with the project Steering Group to design a newspaper distributed throughout Barking, available to all. Highly visible graphics complemented detailed information. An invitation to reply by calling. writing, drawing or emailing was highlighted together with clear contacts for further information or translation.

Barking Development Framework newspaper The flexible format allowed the paper to be left in public places, at the train station, and pinned up in the shopping centre complemented by an on screen PowerPoint presentation.
