East worked with Southwark Council and Cross River Partnership to design and implement environmental improvements, highway alterations, and newly defined public spaces along the route which pedestrians take from Southwark Tube Station to the Tate Modern, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, and other riverside destinations.
A wide range of works were defined which included seating, raised entries, planting, footway surfaces, special signs, tall mirrors to reflect railway spaces, lighting, and bollards.
