
A successful grant application for £1.5 million pounds was made to the Heritage Lottery Fund Urban Parks Programme on the basis of this study to define proposals for the restoration and management of Well Hall Pleasaunce in South London.
Fifty years ago the Pleasaunce was laid out for public use on the basis of a design led by the Borough Engineer, The mixture of styles and gardens that were organised within the Pleasaunce include Formal Gardens, Tudor Courtyard, Moat Island, Walled Garden, Floral Shield Garden, Rose Bowl, and Woodland Glen.




Proposal were made that responded to all eras of history, including the most recent. Adjustments relating to pathways, visibility, signage, moat improvements (including new swans), garden wall restoration were all proposed and costed to make a new presence, useability, and net of connections and access for the Pleasaunce.
The works were completed out in 2002; overseen by Scott Wilson consultants.
