Woolwich lies at the intersection of the Thames Gateway and Greater London. It seems to act as a physical hinge between these two sectors; prominent, and often experienced from a distance. It appears like an island, still waiting to be discovered.
In conjunction with key stakeholders, the Council, the LDA, and the GLA, East led a team to develop a framework and strategy for what should happen to Woolwich over the next twenty years.

By making clear distinction between area wide strategies and site specific possible scenarios we were able to present ideas for radical change without scaring people.
The study is now being taken forward to become the basis of new Supplementary Planning Guidance for the Council.
