Picnics in the Green Belt
Picnics in the Green Belt is a self-initiated research project, developing and promoting ideas for an increased use of the Green Belt.
London wants to expand. The edges of the city want to move, but the urban expansion at the fringe of the city is being prevented by restrictions of the Green Belt. But is the countryside really so precious that we cannot afford to use it?
Supported by RIBA grant funding, East self-published the Picnics in the Green Belt document to answer the question, ‘what is the green belt for?’
