Blossom Street nears completion
The redevelopment of the Norton Folgate site, comprising three urban blocks, is near completion. The project occupies a prominent position on the city fringe between the City of London and Shoreditch. While the Conservation area is small, there are dramatic changes in character from one street to the next. East’s public realm and landscape designed for British Land alongside a series of architects including AHMM, Stanton Williams, Morris and Co and DSDHA responds to this mixed character, reconnecting and enhancing the streets, yards and forecourts that hold the buildings loosely together in a proximity afforded by the historic grain. Great care has been taken to retain and reuse historic materials, including seeting aside, numbering and relaying each idicitual sett to create a street that ties new material surfaces and distinctively scales street furniture into the wider urban fabric.
